Since being introduced to the sport of triathlon in 2011, I have gone from a complete rookie with no background in endurance sports to winning multiple amateur titles from sprint distance all the way up to Ironman. Winning Ironman Canada in 2017 was a dream come true, one that was only possible through years of consistent hard work, an incredible support team and a commitment to self improvement year in and out.
I have toed the line as a Pro and have toed the line with the best in the world in Hawaii on multiple occasions, even leading the amateur race into T2 at the Ironman World Championships in 2017. Outside of sport I am a husband, father, and a Chartered Professional Accountant. I run my triathlon coaching business, Darkside Racing, as it is an opportunity to help others in pursuit of their dreams. I have learned a great deal through both my successes and failures in the sport and am always eager to share these experiences with others. It’s been a privilege and a very rewarding experience to be a part of other athletes’ journeys and I look forward to continuing to work and develop as a coach in the years to come.
There are no sure things in life, but I am a firm believer if you persistently put in the hard work, surround yourself with the right team, and use a very well thought out approach, the odds will start to move in your favour and then… anything is possible.
I currently reside in North Vancouver with wife Jenna, our son Liam and our rowdy little Boston Terrier Oscar.
